Questions and answers

The Turn All system and control box can be cleaned with a suitable disinfectant or with alcohol/propyl alcohol on paper or cloth.

If further cleaning of the Turn All system is required, the cover should be removed from the internal tilt system.

The cover can be autoclaved at max. 121 C or in washing machine at max. 90 C. The cover can be tumble dried on low heat.

The interior tilt system can be cleaned with warm water and soap or disinfected with a suitable 1% chlorine-based solution.

The Turn All tilt system is placed under the mattress.

Guide to installing Turn All in bed:

  • The existing mattress is removed from the bed
  • The pump is mounted on the end of the bed and the cable is plugged into the pump and socket
  • The tilt system is placed on the bed base and secured with the three straps. The straps at the head and foot ends should be tightened around the ends of the bed base and clear of the wheel that runs when the bed is raised.
  • The air hose is put into the pump and it is ensured that the CPR function is closed
  • The mattress is placed on top of the tilting system
  • The system is now installed and ready to use
  • The system is switched on at the on/off button on the pump
  • With the +/- buttons you select the number of hours the chip system should run
  • The interval for turns is set to 30, 60 or 90 minutes on the corresponding buttons
  • When the on/off button is lit and the button for the selected time invert is lit, the system is running
  • If you need to quickly flatten the bed, turn off the system and pull the red CPR strip, which will quickly deflate the tilt system.
Yes. If you only need to be tilted to one side, the system can be made static. This is done by turning on the system. If it is observed that the system does not lift in the desired direction, switch the system off and on again. Then the system will lift in the opposite side. When the tilt reaches the desired height (max 30 degrees) the system is switched off. The air hose is removed from the pump and the plug is placed on the air hose. The air hose has a cord to attach it to the pump. Now the air will stay in the system and the tilt will be static.
When the Turn All system is switched off, it takes about 5 minutes before it is flat.

A good tip is to switch off the system first thing after you have said good morning to the resident/patient. Then the bed will typically get flat in the time it takes you to find remedies, clothes, aids and other things.
It is important that the user is in bed before the Turn All system is switched on. In order to be positioned appropriately in relation to the side bed provided by Turn All, it is important that the user lies in the middle of the bed.
In emergency situations where there is a need to quickly flatten the bed, pull the red CPR strip, which will deflate the tilt system.

By pulling the CPR strip, you open the air hose that supplies air to the tilt system.

In general, Turn All works with both the top layer and most mattress types - including alternating pressure mattresses. But there is always a need for individual assessment. We therefore recommend that you contact either us or the person responsible for AT at your workplace.

On the Turn All system display, you can choose whether the interval should be 30, 60 or 90 minutes. This means that Turn All tilts the user into a side position of 30 degrees for 30, 60 or 90 minutes before slowly switching to the opposite side.

If the user has a pressure ulcer, it is recommended to start at 30 minutes. Pressure ulcer risk should be assessed on an ongoing basis. If the risk of pressure ulcers after elevation is lower, increasing the interval can be considered if this is the user's wish.

If the user does not have pressure ulcers, it is recommended to start at 60 minutes, test it and then, if possible, evaluate with the user how it feels.

It is of course important that the user's risk of pressure ulcers is assessed on an ongoing basis. Ultimately, it is an overall professional assessment that should determine which range is chosen.

Whether additional bearings are needed depends on the user's functional level and risk of pressure ulcers.

It is a good idea to use a slight elevation of the headboard and a bend under the knees to ensure that the user lies well.

People at risk of developing pressure ulcers on their heels may benefit from using an appropriately sized heel lifter or one of the many support pads that are placed under both lower legs so that the heels are free of the mattress.

People with a tendency to swollen hands and arms can benefit from using the All Up Multi Wedge cushion, which is a multifunctional slanted cushion.

People with a curved back and/or exposed spine can benefit from using a lightly inflated Seat All Flexi cushion, as the cushion is open in the middle and will therefore relieve pressure on the spine.

People who feel they are close to the edge of the bed and the bed frame can benefit from using an All Up Multi Small support pillow to support the arms or to place between the arms and the bed frame.

The pads that have a wrapping 'stop up' paper tape are inflated until it bursts.

The cushions that do not have an enclosing 'stop up' paper band are inflated about two thirds or three quarters. The pillow should still feel soft and yielding.

After inflation, check that the user is lifted approximately 1½ finger widths above the ground. Pump in more air if the user is not relieved enough. If you find that the pad is inflated too hard, you can use the supplied adapter to let air out of the pad.

All cushions can be re-inflated if they lose air.

The Turn All system and the Leva Flex mattresses consist of several components that cannot be separated. Therefore, at the end of their useful life, the products should be disposed of as residual waste.

The pump of the Turn All system should be sorted as medium electronic waste as far as possible.

Levabo's cushions are primarily made of PE (polyethylene). This is considered one of the most environmentally friendly types of plastic because it turns into CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H2O (water) when it burns.

The pillow's outer covering of non-woven felt consists of viscose fibres which are widely used in the healthcare sector for plasters, dressings and wound care products.

Because polyethylene and viscose cannot be separated, it is necessary to dispose of the pads as residual waste.

Levabo cushions are delivered in clean sealed bags. The bags should be disposed of as residual waste.

If the products are deemed uncleanable and there is a risk of transmission of infection through contact, they should be disposed of as clinical risk waste.

Disposal should always be in accordance with local waste management guidelines.

The above is based on the Danish EPA's sorting guidance on streamlined waste sorting(mst.dk). If in doubt, ask your local authority or workplace for more information.
